Osilligi Project

Works in the Maasai areas of Kenya helping families out of poverty through education, health and local clean water and by assisting people to become more economically active.
The projects help people have better health, more skills or more productive time, so helping to reduce the cycle of poverty.

We visited the project Staying on site for two days.
Following our visit we decided to support another NGO and assisted with partial funding of the building of a small orphanage at the school which will support children to allow them to continue to receive an education and be cared for. Orphans need the best education as they will not have parents to support them as they move into adulthood.
The orphanage will also act as a safe house for girls from our school under threat of early marriage or female genital mutilation (FGM) or cutting.

During the rainy season, it will also cater for those children who are unable to reach the school as they cannot cross the swollen rivers.
